The People have spoken: NO to the Prespa agreement! Article of N.G. Michaloliakos

At Sunday January 20th of 2019, at Syntagma square, in the heart of Athens, in front of the monument of the Unknown Soldier, Greek People gave its verdict regarding the Prespa agreement. The verdict was clear, a proud NO towards the Prespa agreement, against the plans of the enemies of Hellenism, who aspire to give away our name, our soul to foreigners.

Hundreds of thousands of Greeks, without belonging to a specific political party, were there, holding a Greek Flag and proving that Greek People is still unbroken.

In the political sphere of our country these days prevails a complete passivity. People are indifferent towards the economic laws and measures that have taken away their dignity. People passively accepted the memoranda, the depart of their children to foreign countries, yet with the national issue of our Macedonia, the entire Greek people assembled in Syntagma square, raised the Greek Flag and vowed their decision to let no one take away their Macedonia, not even this nationally dangerous government that neglects the national memory, the History. Like the words of Ion Dragoumes: “If we run to save Macedonia, we will save ourselves from the misery of our times”…

In any case, the SYRIZA government, having lost the people’s but also the parliament’s majority, has no right  to work on this major national issue, and if they do believe in democracy, then they have to respect the will of Greek People and to proceed to a referendum  and, even better, to elections.

However, New Democracy and all those who disagree with the Prespa agreement ought to keep a clear stance and vow that if they become government they will abolish the Prespa agreement or alternatively make a referendum to let People decide for their future!

These days the Hellenic Parliament made a plenary session about the Prespa agreement, where I PROVED that this agreement is invalid. They must understand better that with occasional majorities in the parliament, they have no right to take decisions about the future of an entire Nation, because their actions will have far worse consequences…
